Grovetown, GA - Michael Akeson returned to some local racing this past Saturday night April 25th at his home track of Gordon Park Speedway for their second weekly event paying a special increased purse of $1000 to win this past weekend. Akeson has competed in both events run at the historical 50 plus year old facility in east Georgia for the 2009 season. And both times Akeson has notched top ten finishes. Hopefully this coming weekend Akeson will be able to keep his streak of top 10 finishes alive when he makes his next event which will be announced here at www.akesonracing.com.

Lavonia, GA - The Southern All Star National Series was in action on Saturday March 21st at the Lavonia Speedway for the second annual Late Model Mania paying $5,000 to win. Motor problem troubled Mike's qualifying attempt forcing him to use a points provisional to start the feature race at the rear. From there the second generation bulked down to make a run up through the field in one of the shortest 50 lap features being plagued by only two cautions. Akeson would walk away with a respectable 16th place finish on the night.

Traveler's Rest, SC - Pulling the weekend double dip Akeson would make the trip up I-85 into Carolina for a Southern All Stars East event Sunday afternoon (March 22nd) at the Traveler's Rest Speedway also paying $5,000 to win. After qualifying 16th in a field of 20 cars Michael would have even less time than the previous night to better his position. With track conditions getting worse, through dust and in line racing Akeson would make his way up to the 12th position before time ran out.

Gaffney, SC - Michael Akeson started the season off at Cherokee Speedway for a Southern All Star East, super late model event paying $10,000 to win. Luck would not be on Akeson side for this event and Michael would have trouble making the feature event and would retire earlier than expected on the evening.
